York Region: Stop Polluting Pickering and Ajax

York's sewage is a serious threat to the people of Pickering and Ajax as it affects our drinking water, health and property values.
York Region pipes most of its raw sewage (300 to 400 million litres/day) to the Duffins Sewage Treatment Plant at Lake Ontario, near the
Pickering- Ajax border.

York's sewage pollutes Pickering and Ajax beaches and our drinking water source.  The incineration of York's sewage sludge releases cancer
causing chemicals and Mercury into the air we breathe.  York's sewage has even contributed to a Nuclear reactor shut-down by feeding excess algae
growth which clogged a cooling water intake.

In spite of these existing problems, York Region is seeking Ontario Ministry of Environment approval to twin its Big Sewer Pipe (SE
Collector) through Pickering to take additional sewage from the 500,000 people predicted to settle in York Region over the next 25 years.

York Region should use modern technology to treat its sewage within York Region.  Our politicians should stop York Region from using our
community as a waste receptacle. Ontario's Minister of Environment should deny York's request to twin the SE Collector sewer through Pickering.

All this confusion nothings the same to me
There we were now here we are
All this confusion nothings the same to me

But I can't tell you the way I feel
Because the way I feel is oh so! new to me
No I can't sell you the way I feel
Because the way I feel is oh so! new to me

What I heard is not what I hear
I can see the signs but they're not very clear
What I heard is not what I hear
I can see the signs but they're not very clear

This is confusion am I confusing you?

12:07pm:  I forgot how much I really hate hippies.
Well other then Lauren.
My contrat has once again been delayed.
So I am in Victoria till Saturday.
Then on Saturday I have hall ass back to Vancouver rent a cheap hotel. The hostals in Vancouver are wayyyyyy to sketch. I would rather not eat for a week and save my money to get a cheap hotel. Which is what I am doing.
Like is pretty sweet I have been keeping on the move which I like I went to Tofino then hung around Vancouver renting a bike a nd stuff. I got to I got here the day before yesterday. I hung out with Brad Lauren, Jade, Some random aussie gangster and this guy who reminded me of the hippie from the OC. we hung out got high. drank then hung out at the hostal's open mic night. It was good. Yesterday I went to BC museum it was really beatiful then walked around this amazing park and found some turtles. Then hung out with Lauren some more. She left today for her [planting job.
I spent this morning reading in the park.
I just need to find free things to do to entertain me I guess. I get so annoyed when I have nothing to do.
Hopefully everythign works out and there is not another delayed

6:12pm:
Dear Stewardship Friends,

Below is a motion I'm presenting on Tuesday March 25th Council meeting (moved to Tuesday, 7:30 pm because of the Easter weekend)
If you could find an hour or two in your schedule to come out in support, I'd really appreciate it.
The TRCA and Frenchman's Bay Rehabilitation Project, in partnership with OPG will be doing a presentation and are currently planning an upcoming Pickering wide Stewardship Forum for later this spring to co-ordinate the many groups and efforts of our stewardship community - and an Urban Forest Strategy would be a great place to start!

Hope to see you Tuesday night - Climate Change & trees - how can they say no?? haha
Have a great weekend and thanks for your continued support
Bonnie

Life is my friend
Rake it up to take it in
Wrap me in your cinnamon
Especially in Michigan
...well I could be your friend

White clouds I'm in
A mitten full of fisherman
C'mon Huckleberry Finn
Show me how to make her grin
...well I'm in Michigan

Cry me a future
Where the revelations run amok
Ladies and gentlemen
Lions and tigers come running
Just to steal your luck

A rainy Lithuanian
Who's dancing as an Indian
Painted in my tiger skin
(Especially in Michigan)

10:05pm:

Ok an update about my lame life.

Wednesday –went to a meeting about the Markham ByPass………….I cant believe they are still trying to build that stupid thing.

Thursday –Valentines Day- Best one yet I have to say. Got dressed up and went to Jack Astors with Steph it was really nice because she had just gottan into town from school so It was really nice to see her and catch up. It was packed but we got a seat in the Bar. Then after we hung out and went for a walk then got high in the park it was sketchy and cold. I really miss having my best friend around.

Friday – Friday was just strange really stange I don’t want to go into details on why it was strange but the morning just was I met with some people  it was just strange.

Then Friday night I went to the Say Anything and Thrice Concert it was amazing I dance the whole Say Anything set…badly mom danced but some strangers danced with me it was sick. Thrice was really good I have hardly listen to any of there stuff but they were great live I just closed my eyes and let the music flow though me…..then me and this random guy who was huge did air guitar solos together. It was a wicked night.

I am thinking I am getting really sick I have no energy at all for the past few days. Went shopping for some work clothes :(
